AWEBB Conference 2019

This years’ conference took place in Vilamoura, Portugal at the Anantara Hotel.

On the Friday morning at 10:30 the conference commenced with the AGM itself. It was well attended with 65 representatives of our members attending.

The Chairman, Andy Johnson opened the meeting and his statement was followed by reports from the Treasurer, Neville Butler, Company Secretary, Ken Robinson and ECD Operations Director, Simon Graydon.  This was the followed by Mark Lambert’s speech which reported on the trading performance during the last year and also the strategic direction the group is planning to take over the next 5 years. The winner of the Van was also announced, it was a customer of LEW, Grimsby Branch, Mr Craig Johnson.

After the AGM concluded a buffet lunch was taken.

Then onto the Networking Session for the members and the suppliers attending.  This was very well received and lasted 3 hours.

Whilst the networking was taking place the partners of those involved with the networking were getting to grips with learning how to make some cocktails.

It was then time to let our hair down, firstly a trip on boats along the Algarve coast departing from Vilamoura Marina.

And then onto the Tivoli Vilamoura Marina for a buffet meal and some music and dancing from the wonderful Fully FunKtional.

On the Saturday it was a choice of playing golf or having a free day. In the evening it was the Gala Dinner, where the awards were given out and entertainment was provided by the Singing Waiters and the Magician, Ben Hanlin.
